UL Warns of Counterfeit AC Adaptor

NORTHBROOK, Ill., May 15, 2008 -- Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying consumers and retailers that certain AC adapters have been identified as bearing a counterfeit UL Mark for the United States and Canada. These adapters have not been evaluated for safety by UL.

Identification: On the product: The product has a label with a counterfeit UL Mark for the United States and Canada. The label also includes the following information:

In addition, the blade side of the product is embossed with the following information:

What You Should Do: UL recommends that consumers stop using the product immediately and return it to the place of purchase.
