New York City Prepares for Implementation of Sodium Warnings in Food Establishments

July 19, 2016

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) will now require chain restaurants to post warnings on all high-sodium menu items.

Effective June 6, 2016, the rule was initially stayed by the First Division Appellate court following an appeal from the National Restaurant Association; however, the stay was reversed on May 26, 2016.
