Canada Releases New Textile Standards

The Canadian General Standards Board has released the following new standards for textiles.

CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 8.2-2016 ISO 2061:2010, IDT — Textile test methods Textiles — Determination of twist in yarns — Direct counting method (ISO 2061:2010, IDT) / 59.080.20 Specifies a method for the determination of the direction of twist in yarns, the amount of twist, in terms of turns per unit length, and the change in length on untwisting, by the particular method called direct counting. January 1, 2016
CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 63.4-2016 ISO 14184-1:2011, IDT— Textile test methods Textiles — Determination of formaldehyde — Part 1: Free and hydrolyzed formaldehyde (water extraction method) (ISO 14184-1:2011, IDT) / 59.080.01 Specifies the method for determining the amount of free formaldehyde and formaldehyde extracted partly through hydrolysis by means of a test method called water extraction. January 1, 2016
CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 63.5-2016 ISO 14184-2:2011, IDT—Textile test methods Textiles — Determination of formaldehyde — Part 2: Released formaldehyde (vapour absorption method) (ISO 14184-2:2011, IDT) / 59.080.01 Specifies a test method in order to determine the amount of formaldehyde released under the conditions of accelerated storage from textiles in any form by means of a method called vapor absorption. January 1, 2016
CAN/CGSB-4.2 No. 75-2016 ISO 105-A01:2010, IDT— Textile test methods Textiles — Tests for colourfastness — Part A01: General principles of testing (ISO 105-A01:2010, IDT) / 59.080.01 Specifies general information about test methods to determine the colourfastness of textiles for the guidance of users. January 1, 2016
