New digital service offering for iCoCs on UL Product iQ®
Industrial control panel builders and component/product manufacturers both have a need to obtain and share relevant product information. But there’s a problem: product info sheets and marketing content are often not trustworthy, or may not provide the level of detail needed as a data source. This can result in substantial back-and-forth between component/product manufacturers and panel builders to get confirmed, trusted certification data.
UL Solutions’ Individual Certificates of Compliance (iCoCs) on Product iQ provide upfront certification report data on a digital platform, including Conditions of Acceptability (CofA), ratings and other critical information to consider when you are selecting components for your end product.

Panel builders and other end product manufacturers can search Product iQ to determine if a component/product has been certified. Certification alone, however, does not ensure that the component/product is appropriate for use in an end product. A downloadable iCoC is currently available for 47 different recognized component and listed product types, including programmable controllers, auxiliary devices for motor controllers, industrial control switches, cartridge fuse holders, power circuit and motor-mounted apparatus, as well as other components/products.
iCoCs that are made available by the component/product manufacturers are downloadable as PDFs from the component/product’s model page in Product iQ. The iCOC includes the following information:
- Standard number.
- Category Control Number (CCN).
- Product covered.
- General section.
- Engineering considerations.
- Ratings – electrical and enclosure environmental specifications.
- Nomenclature.
- Conditions of Acceptability – limitations in the component end use.
