UEFA Champions Sustainability with ULTRUS™ UL 360 Software

Advancing environmental and social progress in European football

Based in Switzerland, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) organizes some of the world’s most prestigious tournaments. While primarily known for big events like the Men’s and Women’s EUROs and the UEFA Champions League, this organization is also deeply committed to enhancing community engagement and driving positive change for society and the environment.

In support of this ambition and to achieve the goals laid out in its 2030 sustainability strategy, UEFA partnered with UL Solutions in 2022-2023. The first step was to implement ULTRUS™ UL 360 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Sustainability software to start tracking its carbon footprint and measuring the environmental impact of its football activities in terms of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). Next, the Carbon Calculator was developed and launched during the EURO 2024 championships, underscoring UEFA’s dedication and commitment to inspire, activate and accelerate collective action across European football by providing access to all National Associations, Leagues and Clubs.
