Product marking is one of the simplest compliance requirements to overlook and one of the easiest for an inspector to check. In Saudi Arabia, regulated products are registered through the SABER platform, and the information declared there is expected to match what appears on the product itself. The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has reminded suppliers that certain regulated products must carry the supplier's name and commercial registration number directly on the product. The requirement affects importers and local manufacturers across several regulated categories, including child restraint systems and strollers, and it becomes mandatory in October 2026.
According to the circular, the requirement will become mandatory from Oct. 1, 2026, for products covered by the specified technical regulations. These include, among others, items covered by the Technical Regulations on Child Restraint Systems and Strollers.
SASO will verify compliance through information submitted on the SABER electronic platform. Companies that fail to meet the requirement may be subject to enforcement actions and penalties under the Product Safety Law and its Executive Regulations.
