On April 27, 2026, the European Commission (EC) adopted Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/901 European standards that support Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety.
The decision publishes references to revised and new European standards that, when applied, confer a presumption of conformity with the EU’s general safety requirements for consumer products.
The measure covers a wide range of products, including gymnastic equipment, children’s furniture and care articles, cigarettes, bicycles, and stationary training equipment. It replaces outdated standards with updated versions, reflecting current safety requirements and technological developments.
The decision also repeals Implementing Decision (EU) 2019/1698, while allowing transitional periods for certain withdrawn standards.
