BSMI Notifies WTO on Proposed Regulations on Self-Ballasted Fluorescent Lamps

Taiwan’s Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of its ‘Public Notice under the Commodity Inspection Act’, relating to self-ballasted fluorescent lamps.

The notified document covers the following:

  • Proposal that manufactures or importers must comply with the requirements under Section 5 "Marking of presence" of CNS 15663 and clearly communicate "the presence conditions of the restricted substance(s)" on the body, packages, stickers, or the instruction books of the commodities, even when using online advertisement
  • Intention to amend the Description of Goods of the commodities and to adopt the revised standards CNS 14125 and CNS 14115

Comments may be submitted until January 16, 2017.
