The UL Solutions interoperability teams have supported Amazon as a certified 3rd party lab working with Amazon since the inception of the Works with Alexa (WWA) badge.

UL Solutions interoperability test and program management teams have globally supported Amazon as a certified 3rd party lab since Amazon started requiring partners to complete testing to be granted the Works with Alexa (WWA) badge January 2016.

Over the past eight years as a certified lab for Amazon, UL Solutions has processed over 3,000 certification tests with results submitted directly to Amazon for review and consideration for certification approval.

Over the years UL Solutions has adapted to support the certification programs as technology and device type submitted for testing has changed.

UL Solutions has experience evaluating smart home products beyond Amazon Alexa. UL Solutions is also a certified lab for Samsung Works with SmartThings (WWST), Apple HomeKit and Made for iPhone.

Experienced UL Solutions project managers support Amazon partners throughout the process. This helps streamline the product certification from submittal in the developer’s portal to test and results delivery to Amazon required to complete the certification.

Program management and lab staff are always available to discuss results and answer questions that maybe standing in the way of receiving final approval.

The costs associated with WWA certification testing varies based on scope assigned by Amazon, determined by the device under test capabilities.

Cost ranges by device type are estimations only and final cost cannot be confirmed until test scope is assigned by Amazon. Upon submittal to UL Solutions, partners will be issued a pre-quote that details test scope, lab location and cost.
