UL Solutions offers testing services for gas grid components to support hydrogen integration. Our independent, third-party testing service helps customers reduce project risk and supports market access.  

Gas grid component testing services  

Assess the sealing performance, material compatibility and durability of components intended for hydrogen distribution networks with our gas grid component testing services.

Our laboratories are equipped to perform evaluations under realistic operating conditions, including:

  • Component sizes up to DN 600
  • Pressure capability up to 300 bar, with higher pressures available upon request
  • Conditioning from -30 C to 80 C
  • Leakage and permeation testing under hydrogen exposure

  • Mechanical integrity testing – Test structural strength under hydrogen exposure and pressure variations. 
  • Leak and permeation testing – Detect hydrogen leakage and measure material permeability to help support safety.
