Industrial robot with conveyor in factory

This on-demand webinar provides an overview on the requirements for industrial machinery as per UL 2011 (NFPA 79), the Factory Automation Equipment Standard; and associated control panel requirements as per UL 508A, the Standard for Industrial Control Panels.

Factory Automation Equipment (UL 2011) – This Outline of Investigation covers production equipment for attended or unattended assembly of products or sub-assemblies. The production equipment covered by this Standard is designed to be programmed for a specific manufacturing application such as the assembly of components, packaging, sorting, counting of parts, or hole punching or cutting.  UL 2011 is based on NFPA 79, the electrical standard for industrial machinery.

Industrial Control Panel (UL 508A) - Covers requirements for a control panel which forms a portion of the overall factory automation equipment.

Key points:

  • Regulations and standards for machinery for North America market access
  • Overview of UL 2011, NFPA 79 and UL 508A
  • UL certification programs and certification process for machinery
