NORTHBROOK, Ill. — Aug. 22, 2025 — The following is a notification from UL Solutions that the Vulcan fire extinguishers identified below bear unauthorized UL Certification Marks. These fire extinguishers have not been evaluated by UL Solutions, and it is unknown if the fire extinguishers comply with any safety requirements. UL Solutions recommends that these products be removed from service.
Name of Product: Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher
Remedy: UL Solutions recommends that these products be removed from service and replaced by a UL Certified fire extinguisher.
Identification on the Product Labels: The fire extinguishers bear unauthorized UL Certification Marks and the following:
PREVINSAL
VULCAN
POLVO QUIMICO SECO ABC
Contenido: PQS ABC AL 75% CERTIFICADO UL

Location: The products were distributed by PREVINSAL and sold at Freund stores and other wholesalers and retailers in El Salvador. They were also sold online through freundferreteria.com.
