The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has provided requirements for chemical testing under Annex VII and VIII of Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
The requirements state that non-animal testing shall be imposed when performing the following:
- Skin corrosion/irritation
- Serious eye damage/eye irritation
- Acute dermal toxicity and skin sensitization
New requirements went into force on June 21, 2016.
