Chemicals: EC Adds Dechlorane Plus Under POP Regulation

The European Commission (EC) enacted the proposed decision to add dechlorane plus under Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

The European Commission (EC) enacted the proposed decision to add dechlorane plus under Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on persistent organic pollutants (POPs).

This delegated act implements decision SC-11/10 to list dechlorane plus in Annex A, in accordance with Article 15(1) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1021, to specify a limit of 1,000 mg/kg for the minimum allowable quantity from the effective date, and further reducing it to 1 mg/kg after 30 months (Q4 2027).

Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on persistent organic pollutants implements the EU’s international commitments under the Stockholm Convention on persistent organic pollutants.
