Following the update to the regulatory framework of agricultural phytosanitary products, on June 26, 2025, the National Agrifood Health and Quality Service, known by the acronym SENASA, has expanded the mandatory information that should appear on the labels for these products, according to Revision 9 of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS).

Resolution 373/2026 was published on April 24, 2026, and provides the GHS criteria for labels of phytosanitary products, which apply to manufacturers, importers, and those that place these products in the Argentine market.

The regulation provides a template for the full GHS label, as well as a template for the reduced label for smaller containers, found in Annexes I and II.

The labels must follow a structure, intended to improve clarity, divided into three clearly differentiated sections:

  • Identification section
  • Precautions and hazard information
  • Recommendations for use

Under Annexes III through V, there are tables regarding acute mammalian toxicity, skin and eye sensitization and irritation labeling elements, and environmental hazards.

For samples of plant protection products, the following phrase must be displayed on the primary label: “SAMPLE OF NO COMMERCIAL VALUE; SALE PROHIBITED.”

There are also requirements for design and formatting, including, for example, headings in bold, a red color (Pantone 199 C) reserved exclusively for medical information and a minimum print size of eight (8) typographic points, with a line spacing of one (1) point.

All text must be written in Spanish, except for product trademarks, which may appear in their original language, and scientific names, which must be written in italics.

The Resolution repeals SENASA Resolution No. 367/2014 and enters into force on April 25, 2026.
