On Jan. 28, 2026, CEN published EN 71-8:2026 Safety of toys - Part 8: Activity toys for domestic use.
This document specifies requirements and test methods for activity toys. Changes made to this version of the standard include:
- Inflatable activity toys are now within scope (previously excluded)
- Clarifications for interpretation of the definition of swing elements, ladders, and entrapments
- New definitions and requirements for contained-air and constant-air (blower) inflatable toys
- Clarification of test methods for diameter of ropes
