The European Union has introduced Regulation (EU) 2023/826 as part of its commitment to advance the circular economy, improve resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Regulation (EU) 2023/826 amends existing (EC) No. 1275/2008 and reflects the EU’s strategic shift toward making products more durable, repairable, energy efficient and environmentally sustainable. The new regulation aims to reduce the environmental impact of electrical and electronic equipment by establishing new energy efficiency requirements for off, standby and networked standby modes of small appliances.
