Overview

There are two National Industrial Listing Certifications:  National Industrial Security Systems (CRZH) and National Industrial Monitoring Station (CRZM).

The Standard for National Industrial Security Systems, UL 2050, was developed in collaboration with U.S. federal security agencies. The technical requirements of UL 2050 describe the elements of alarm protection (intrusion detection) needed to coordinate with related security measures that come into force when defense contractors hold sensitive material.

CRZH

A national industrial security system is installed and is remotely monitored on alarm receiving equipment located in a government-contracted monitoring station, or an independently certified central station. The purpose of this monitoring is to notify the proper personnel responsible for responding to, and investigating, signals.

National industrial security systems must be monitored for:

  • Opening
  • Closing
  • Alarm and trouble signals

If a government-contracted monitoring station, or a certified central station monitoring facility, is not available, alarm and trouble signals must be monitored by a law enforcement station, or an emergency dispatch center.
