On Thursday, 21st November, 2019, UL won the Large Business of the Year award at the Inspire Business Awards in Basingstoke. Businesses around England’s North Hampshire region celebrated at the annual event held at the Hampshire Court Hotel. More than 500 business professionals from across the region attended the event where the winners were announced.
The annual awards programme, which is organized by Destination Basingstoke on behalf of sponsoring partners, received a record-breaking number of entries over the summer, which were then shortlisted. The finalists were visited by the judging panel in October, heightening the anticipation for the announcements made at the November ceremony.
The Large Business of The Year award, sponsored by Basingstoke and Deane Council, was open to dynamic businesses (over £5 million turnover) that are standard bearers for success across the region. This award is one of the highest accolades and presented to the business most able to demonstrate all-round achievement and fulfil the following criteria:
- An organisation which can demonstrate success in overcoming challenges to drive forward its business plan and exceed business objectives
- An organisation which can demonstrate sound business and financial planning.
- Staff involvement and motivation to meet business objectives.
- A clear plan for future growth of the organisation.
