NORTHBROOK, Ill., June 24, 2026 UL Solutions (NYSE: ULS), a global leader in applied safety science, today announced the recipients of the inaugural Code Authority® Leadership Awards presented June 23 at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay during the National Fire Protection Association Conference and Expo in Las Vegas.

The awards program honors leaders who strengthen public safety by advancing code adoption and enforcement, mentoring the next generation and helping jurisdictions address emerging technologies and evolving risks. Nominations come from peers who understand the demands and responsibilities of the role, adding credibility and meaning to each honor.

As public safety continues to evolve with new building methods, electrification, energy storage and climate resilience needs, code authorities play a central role in keeping codes current amid innovation, while ensuring they remain practical and enforceable. The awards program highlights proven leadership, supports mentorship and knowledge transfer across jurisdictions, and elevates emerging leaders, helping shape the future of code development.

“Code authorities help turn safety requirements into real-world protection for communities,” said Alberto Uggetti, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at UL Solutions. “These awards recognize leaders whose expertise and judgment strengthen public safety every day.”

The inaugural UL Solutions Code Authority Leadership Award honorees include:

  • Tonya Hoover, retired fire administrator, U.S. Fire Administration, who received the Lifetime Impact on Public Safety Award for sustained leadership and lasting contributions to safety,
