UL Chosen by Taiwan Bureau as Designated Small Appliances Test Lab

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Feb 16, 2015 -- UL (Underwriters Laboratories), a global safety science leader, announced that its testing laboratory in Taiwan was recently appointed by Taiwan’s Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) as the designated test laboratory for small appliances. UL Taiwan’s technical expertise, state-of-art lab facilities, industry experience and commitment to customer service enabled the lab to earn this distinction.

The new scope of UL Taiwan’s testing for BSMI includes: massage appliances, electrical appliances for use with aquariums and garden ponds, warming plates and similar appliances, appliances for skin or hair care, appliances for heating liquids, fans, stationary cooking ranges, hobs, ovens and similar appliances, grills, toasters and similar portable cooking appliances, dishwashers, electric irons, deep fat fryers, frying pans and similar appliances, as well as portable immersion heaters.

UL Taiwan can now help manufacturers test small appliances to the requirements of BSMI in order to obtain BSMI certification. UL Taiwan’s product safety and quality testing capabilities enables UL to provide a one-stop solution and more extensive service for manufacturers, helping them face the challenges of complex regulations.
