UL is Approved Notified Body for UAE’s Third-Party RoHS Testing Requirement for Electrical and Electronic Equipment

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that beginning January 1st, 2018 all electrical and electronic equipment sold in the UAE is required to have conformity assessments from notified bodies to meet the new UAE Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) requirement. UL is currently an approved testing body that can provide the conformity assessments.

Products covered by this regulation include small and large household appliances, IT and Telecommunication equipment, consumer equipment, lighting equipment, electrical and electronic tools, toys, leisure and sport equipment, medical devices, monitoring and control instruments, automatic dispensers and other types of Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
