More and more LATAM countries are building regulations related to energy efficiency, promoting the efficient use of energy for appliances. Countries such as Peru, Panama, El Salvador and Costa Rica are now mandating an energy efficiency requirement for certain type of products.
UL Mexico is following local regulators closely in order to get the latest updates and help manufacturers and importers reach desired countries. As part of this commitment, UL received accreditation for Peru, Panama and El Salvador by EMA (Mexican Entity of Accreditation) an ILAC member and for Costa Rica by ECA (Costa Rican Entity of Accreditation) for the following mandatory energy efficiency regulations:
