UL International Italia S.r.l. and the Ukrainian Certification Body State Enterprise Certificate Test Centre of Heating Equipment (SE CTCHE) have recently signed an agreement for cooperation and testing recognition.
Technical regulations applicable in Ukraine are usually based on European directives and standards concerning requirements, conformity assessment process and applicable standards. The cooperation between UL and SE CTCHE is mainly focused on the approval of gas appliances for Ukrainian market access.
The technical regulation, "On Approval of the Technical Regulation on Appliances Burning Gaseous Fuel," published with the Ministerial Resolution no. 814 in July 2018 is currently enforced, replacing the previous regulation dated 2008. The conformity assessment procedure described requires obtaining a type examination certificate and an approval of the production process, both issued by a local conformity assessment body appointed by the Ukrainian authorities. In addition, manufacturers shall draw up a declaration of conformity in the state language and shall apply the national mark of conformity on products (adding the number of the designed conformity assessment body involved in the production control and assessment).
Thanks to the agreement and cooperation established with SE CTCHE, test reports and certifications issued by UL laboratories to obtain a CE mark can be submitted for recognition as the basis for the Ukrainian approval. Especially for gas appliances and for the products that require in-country testing and factory audits, we can help manufacturers find the best path to obtain national certification for Ukraine.
