Friedrich Hecker Elected to UL's Board of Trustees

NORTHBROOK, Ill., September 4, 2013: UL, a world leader in advancing safety, announced today that Friedrich Hecker, an experienced executive in the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) industry, has been elected to the organization's board of trustees.

Mr. Hecker is currently the chief executive officer of the ROSEN Group, a leading supplier of specialized technology and services to the energy markets around the world. As CEO, he is focused on driving strategic growth, operational excellence and corporate innovation.

Most recently, Mr. Hecker was CEO of TUV Rheinland Holding AG, where he led the restructuring of the organization and rolled out energy efficiency and sustainability services globally, which included strategic acquisitions and expansion activities. He was also TUV's chief operating officer before taking the helm as CEO. Previous to that, he was responsible for the global industrial service activities of the Swiss-based SGS-Group as executive vice president, Industrial Services and a member of the operations council.

Mr. Hecker began his career at the consultancy firm Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. At TUV SUD, Mr. Hecker continued his career as managing director of the industry business segment.

Hecker received a degree in economics from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.
