With his expertise in corporate real estate innovation and digital transformation, Scott brings experience and insightful innovation to solving customer challenges by focusing on value-driven outcomes. He develops and expands assessment tools like SPIRE™ and SSRP for evaluating the performance of smart buildings and smart systems across sustainability, safety, connectivity and more. Scott also examines emerging industry needs — such as data centers and security operations — to prototype and pilot new services that align with UL Solutions’ mission. Smart building services
Scott drives the delivery and expansion of UL Solutions’ smart building ecosystem services, including the SPIRE Smart Buildings Assessment™ and SSRP. These sophisticated tools empower building owners, operators and technology providers to evaluate performance, lower costs and mitigate risks in areas like sustainability, cybersecurity, health and interoperability. Scott’s insights into third-party assessments and marketing claim verification help customers transform the definition of “smart” building.

Innovation and service incubation
As part of UL Solutions’ strategy and innovation team, Scott identifies opportunities to incubate and launch new services that align with industry pain points and customer value-driven outcomes. His work explores emerging areas such as security operations centers and data center operational performance, designing new assessment frameworks that can serve evolving markets while also driving engagement with UL Solutions’ core TIC services. He creates scalable, stakeholder-driven offerings that expand UL Solutions’ reach and relevance in the built environment.
