The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), a free trade agreement among the 15 Asia Pacific nations including 10 ASEAN states and five other partner countries (Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea), went into effect on Jan. 1, 2022. This free trade zone covers about 30% of the world’s gross domestic product, trade and population.
