As power systems continue to evolve, grid operators around the world are implementing increasingly complex technical requirements to maintain reliability, stability and power quality. For developers, manufacturers and operators of renewable and conventional power plants, demonstrating compliance with these requirements has become a critical step in the grid connection process.
Join UL Solutions for an informative session on the simulation and certification process for Power Generation Systems (PGS) and learn how simulation-based conformity assessments can support grid code compliance across global markets.
During this session, our experts will provide an overview of the key technical requirements that apply at the power plant level and explain how simulation studies are used to evaluate system performance under various operating conditions. Attendees will gain practical insight into the certification process and understand the role that advanced simulation tools play in demonstrating compliance with grid code requirements.
Topics covered will include:
- An introduction to the main components involved in grid code evaluation of power generation systems
- An overview of conformity assessment processes for grid code compliance in Spain and Germany
- Simulation studies commonly requested for power plant operation, including power quality and network performance assessments
- Advanced simulation capabilities available at the UL Solutions Madrid laboratory, including electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies, transient analysis and grid-forming evaluations
- The role of simulation and certification in supporting successful grid connection applications
