UL and Jarden Consumer Solutions Partner on Smart Enabled household appliance trends presentation at 115th Canton Fair

Global partners come together to discuss Smart Household Appliance technological advancements

Guangzhou, China, May 13, 2014 - UL and Jarden Consumer Solutions (JCS) combined to provide a joint informative presentation on smart enabled products and standards development  as it relates to Small Household Appliances at Phase 1 of the 115th Canton Fair held in Guangzhou, China.  The presentation, entitled "Smart Household Appliances Updates on Consumer Trends and the Impact on Product Safety Standards" was given to a packed room of business professionals during the first day of the exhibition.

The Canton Fair, also known as The China Import and Export Fair, is a comprehensive trade show with a long, distinguished history, drawing international buyers from across the globe.  UL's presentation was one of only a small number of presentations that was chosen by show organizers. Smart enabled product technology continues to become more main stream, with numerous household products already incorporating key wireless features.

The presentation focused on two parts; with Jarden Consumer Solutions discussing the consumer preference trends they as a leading global product manufacturer in the Small Appliance market place are experiencing, and with UL addressing how it is partnering with industry so that its current safety standards are being updated to provide the same level of confidence in the safety of the products now incorporating new smart enabled technology.
