September 11, 2015

Details
The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) has published the thirteenth edition of the AAFA Restricted Substances List (RSL) for apparel, footwear, and home textiles.

The AAFA RSL covers global product safety and environmental standards to provide clear and concise information on the newest developments in product safety and chemical management standards. The AAFA RSL provides apparel and footwear companies with information related to regulations and laws that restrict or ban certain chemicals and substances in finished home textile, apparel, and footwear products.

Why It Matters
Created by a special working group of the AAFA Environmental Task Force, the RSL covers chemicals and other substances whose presence in a product is restricted through a government regulation or law and identifies the most restrictive iteration of that regulation worldwide. Every six months, the publication is reviewed, updated, and the latest version is made available for free on the AAFA website.
