UL warns of Li-ion batteries with counterfeit UL Mark (Release 12PN-67)

Northbrook, IL - February 15, 2013: The following is a notification from UL to consumers and retailers that the Li-ion Batteries models identified below bear a counterfeit UL Listing Mark for the United States. These Li-ion Batteries have not been evaluated by UL to the UL Standard for Safety and it is unknown if they comply with the any safety requirements.

Name of Product: Li-ion Batteries, Models LP-E6, NP-FW50 and NP-FW500H

Identification: The products bear a counterfeit UL Mark and the following:

ANKER®
Extend limits (UL in Circle)
For LP-E6 / NP-FW50 / NP-FM500H

Made in China
