Canada Adds Prostaglandins to Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist

CANADA - Health Canada has announced the addition of prostaglandins, their salts, derivatives and analogs to its Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist, published to inform the industry of new substances which are deemed inappropriate for use in cosmetics or which require hazard labeling.
 
In addition, the following substances on the Hotlist were amended:

  • methylisothiazolinone / methylchloroisothiazolinone (MI/MCI), in combination
  • cyanoacrylate-based adhesives
  • peroxide and peroxide-generating compounds
  • p-Phenylenediamine and its salts
