California Department of Public Health Launch Online Safe Cosmetics Program

California state public health officials have launched an online cosmetic database which provides suspected harmful chemicals found in a certain cosmetics products.

The online database allows consumers to search product type, brand, or ingredient, and will disclose if the product contains potentially hazardous ingredients. The database has 475 California based companies which disclosed the ingredients of 30,000 products, and dates back to 2005.
