It takes a lot of work to make the Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) Conference successful, and as it grows, the workload continues to increase. To help manage this success, the AMUG board has named UL’s Paul Bates to the newly created deputy vice president role. He will work closely with and support elected AMUG vice presidents, Dana Foster and Steve Deak, on AMUG exposition logistics and sponsor support.
Bates, UL’s Lead 3D Printing Engineer, has been part of the additive manufacturing industry for over 20 years. A 2012 recipient of the AMUG “Dinosaur” Award, Bates is fluent in numerous AM processes, including SLS, FDM, and PolyJet. Joining UL in 2014, he has been critical in establishing numerous industry relationships and leads UL’s additive manufacturing instructor-led training.
“After working with AMUG for years, I’m looking forward to supporting the AMUG Board and the dedicated AMUG membership, said Bates. “This is another positive step coming off of last year’s AMUG Education track lead role.”
Dates & location for the 2016 AMUG Conference have yet to be determined. To learn more about AMUG, please visit www.additivemanufacturingusersgroup.com.
