TFDA Issues Infant Food Testing Methods

The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) has issued “Method of Test for Aflatoxin B1 in Cereal-based Foods for Infants,” requiring specific test methods for infant food.

The following are the specified testing methods and requirements to be followed:

  • Application Scope: Cereal-based complementary foods for infants and young children
  • Testing Methods: After the sample is extracted and refined, HPLC shall be performed
  • Maximum Residual Limit for Aflatoxin B1: 0.5 ppb

Effective immediately, the newly issued document replaces “Method of Test for Aflatoxin in Foods-Aflatoxin M1&M2 in Liquid Dairy Products.”
