NORTHBROOK, Ill., Dec. 2, 2008 — Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying consumers and retailers that decorative lighting strings manufactured by Weinace Decorative Co. Ltd. may pose a shock or fire hazard.
This information was first reported in a previous UL public notice dated December 21, 2007.

Hazard: The decorative light strings are not constructed in compliance with UL’s safety standard. These products may overheat creating a potential risk of electric shock and fire to users.
