NORTHBROOK, Ill., Jan. 5, 2017 — UL, today announces that its wire and cable laboratory in Suzhou is accredited by China’s Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) as a CCC (China Compulsory Certification) Testing Organization.

Compulsory Product Certification (CCC) is the statutory compulsory safety certification system in China that contains important safeguards to protect consumers’ rights.  The specified CCC testing scope of the Suzhou laboratory is for the GB/T 5023.3~.5 wire and cable category, and includes:

Polyvinyl chloride insulated cables of rated voltages up to and including:

  • 450/750V-Part 3: Non-sheathed cables for fixed wiring
  • 450/750V-Part 4: Sheathed cables for fixed wiring
  • 450/750V-Part 5: Flexible cables(cords)

As manufacturers in the wire and cable industry strive to gain access to the China market, they need to overcome several challenges in order to stand out against the competition.  By collaborating with UL to handle CCC testing needs, customers can have seamless support from experienced engineers and technical experts locally in China. UL will deliver a turnkey solution in which we handle the entire application process and deliver the desired certifications, marks and regulatory approvals upon successful product testing and initial factory inspection.

“This accreditation is a strong foundation on which UL wire & cable division can build other China-for-China services”, said L.F. Lai, VP and General Manager of UL’s wire and cable division.
