Keith Williams, President and CEO of UL, along with Bill Grana and Jason Fischer were challenged to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by De Thompson of Thompson Machinery Company in Nashville, TN.
During a recent senior management meeting, Keith along with the UL senior leadership team participated in a group ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise additional awareness and funds for the cause.
ALS has touched the lives of many. UL has lost two employees to the disease in recent years Todd Kinnane, former CFO of UL’s PureSafety business in Nashville, and George Unger of UL Canada in Toronto. Todd and George were acknowledged by Keith as he led the team in the challenge.
As members of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, Keith and his team challenged the leadership teams of every member of IFIA, the International Federation of Inspection Agencies of which UL is a member, to join in a TIC industry battle against ALS.
The UL “Challenge Buckets” are being made available for other UL facilities to use when organizing their own ALS Challenge. UL is also offering these buckets to the many other charities UL supports, for their own general uses.
