UL together with key industry stakeholders will be presenting at the 2016 IEEE Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee (IEEE/PCIC) Technical Conference being held in Philadelphia, PA (USA) from 19 - 21 September 2016.
Donald W. Ankele of UL will be presenting with GE on Wednesday, 21 September 2016, at 10:15 a.m. during the IEEE/PCIC Electrochemical Technical Session II - “Explosion Protection Technique of Motor Integrated with Compressor using Purging and Pressurization with a Flammable Gas above the UFL”. This paper presentation will address explosion protection requirements for a high speed induction motor integrated with a compressor by purging the system of air and then pressurization by means of flammable gas maintained above the upper flammable limit (UFL).
Paul T. Kelly of UL will be presenting with Hubbell and R Stahl on Monday, 19 September 2016, at 8:00 a.m. during the IEEE/PCIC General Technical Session - “Impact of the IECEx System on the North American Hazardous Locations Industry”. This paper presentation will provide an overview of the IECEx System and its four Schemes by the Chairman of the IECEx System, along with an examination of the impact that the IECEx System has had on the North American hazardous locations industry, both locally and globally, from the perspective of a manufacturer and of a testing and certification body.
