The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Fifth Amendment Regulations, 2017 F. No. Stds/03/Notification (LS)/FSSAI-2017.  

This regulation specifies the standards for salt substitutes and their composition and standards for special dietary food with low sodium content and very low sodium content and related labeling requirements.  

The regulation was released on June 19, 2017.
