Health Canada has issued NOP/ADP-C-2017–3 Notice of Modification: Prohibiting the Use of Partially Hydrogenated Oils in Foods.

This notice specifies the prohibition on the use of partially hydrogenated oils (PHOs) in foods by adding PHOs to Part 1 of the List of Contaminants and Other Adulterating Substances in Foods (the List).

The notice was released on September 3, 2017. The enforcement will be on January 1, 2018.
