The Environment and Climate Change of Canada has drafted a screening assessment acrylates and methacrylates group used in personal care and beauty products.
This draft contains the screening assessment of six of nine substances referred to collectively under the Chemicals Management Plan as the Acrylates and Methacrylates group. This includes consideration of information on chemical properties, environmental fate, hazards, uses, and exposures, including additional information submitted by stakeholders.

The substances include:
1. Acrylic acid;
2. Methacrylic acid;
3. N-butyl methacrylate;
4. 2-Ethylhexyl acrylate;
5. 5 Butyl acrylate; and
6. Isobornyl methacrylate

The draft is open for public comments until November 22, 2017. The proposed date of enforcement of this rule is on September 24, 2018.
