The National Drug, Food and Medical Technology Administration of Argentina has proposed ban certain substances in antibacterial products. The ban is announced through Ban on the use of certain substances in antibacterial products.

The ban specifies the following substances to be banned in antibacterial products:

  • cloflucarban
  • fluorosalan
  • hexylresorcinol
  • methylbenzethonium chloride
  • secondary amyl tricresols
  • sodium oxychlorosene
  • triclocarban
  • triclosan

The proposed ban was open for consultation until February 15, 2017. The ban is proposed to be enforced on December 27, 2018.
