Frank J. Coyne joined the board in 2009, where he contributes his many years of experience as an attorney and business executive. With his deep expertise in the insurance industry, Frank provides UL with valuable guidance on legal and human resources matters as well as his overall business acumen.
Frank joined Insurance Services Office (ISO) as president and chief operating officer (COO), was elected president and chief executive officer (CEO) in 2000 and became chairman two years later. He spearheaded ISO’s acquisition of more than 20 companies, fortifying the company’s capabilities. In 2008, Frank led the initiative that created Verisk Analytics as the parent of ISO and its family of companies.
Following a distinguished career in the U.S. Army where he rose to the rank of captain, he served as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, vice president and assistant general counsel of Universal Underwriters Group and associate general counsel and general counsel for Reliance Insurance Company, and general counsel of PMA Insurance Company, before becoming President of General Accident Insurance Company.
Frank received his bachelor’s degree in political science, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Scranton with a law degree from Duquesne University.
