Proprietary Structured Cabling Channel Verification ProgramThis program establishes initial and ongoing compliance testing requirements for manufacturers offering a structured cabling product line. The program can evaluate channels and permanent links, which are intended for installation in either commercial or residential applications. The performance specifications used may be national or international standards or manufacturer specific (proprietary) requirements. Depending upon the specification's requirements, testing can include both passive or active performance testing of assembled end-to-end channels, permanent links or systems. Why have your Channel, Permanent Link or System UL-Verified?UL's Proprietary Structured Cabling Program is one of the most stringent in the industry. It includes extensive initial testing using the latest in laboratory grade test equipment and ongoing quarterly compliance testing long after the products are manufactured. Products are obtained by UL staff from telecommunications product distributors, configured in accordance with the appropriate performance specification and tested at UL to verify continued compliance. This program verifies that channels, permanent links or systems covered under this UL service continue to meet performance requirements.
