Terminal Attachment Services

Underwriters Laboratories Inc. provides a wide range of terminal attachment testing and certification services. These services are available to assist you in successfully bringing your product to market both domestically and internationally.

USA and Canada

U.S. terminal attachment

UL is a Telecommunications Certification Body for Scope C under the Federal Communications Commission TCB program. In addition, we are an active member of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR41.9 Subcommittee (Technical Regulatory Considerations), the TR41.9.1 Working Group (Industry Version of Part 68), and a member of the Administrative Council for Terminal Attachments (jointly sponsored by the TIA and the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions - ATIS)

Industry Canada has approved UL as a Testing Facility for telecommunications terminal equipment.

Europe

UL has been designated as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) for radio and telecommunications terminal equipment. As a "Notified Body" under the R&TTE Directive, UL can identify and approve the essential radio test suites applicable to a product (ANNEX III) and review and approve a manufacturer's technical construction file demonstrating compliance with the identified essential requirements (ANNEX IV).

UL is a member and participant in the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Compliance Association (R&TTE CA).

Hong Kong

UL has been appointed a Recognized Testing Agency (RTA) under the HKTEC Scheme to conduct evaluation tests of telecommunications equipment against HKTA specifications issued by the Telecommunications Authority (TA). Under this Scheme, the TA will examine the test reports produced by UL as a RTA and issue certificates for the telecommunications equipment.
