UL Categories and Standards Related to the Telecom Industry
UL evaluates products using Standards for Safety, such as the Standard for Information Technology Equipment, UL60950. Once a product has been found to comply with the requirements applicable to the product, the product is eligible for UL's Listing and Follow-Up Service. A product is "Listed" under a specific category that covers that particular product and others like it. Each category defines the expected usage of the product and contains valuable information regarding installation criteria, and requirements that are applied.
