Sign Listing Services

UL's Listing Service is:

  1. Easy to start,
  2. Most signs fall under a general coverage category so when needed, they are looked at in your shop,
  3. Most LED signs using UL Recognized parts are covered,
  4. The Sign Accessories Manual (SAM) is available online identifying components that can be used in Listed Signs,
  5. UL Listing will make your signs readily accepted in all jurisdictions,
  6. UL offers CE Unit training for building signs that comply with the requirements in UL 48 through the UL University seminars and UL University Sign Online Training.

Listing Service covers Cabinet Signs, Neon and LED Channel Letters, Banner Signs, Awning Signs, Neon Window Signs and Outline lighting, and Changing Message Signs.

Most signs are covered under General Coverage as noted above. This means that the sign shop that makes the signs to comply with the requirements in the Sign Standard, UL 48 do not need to submit their signs to UL. A UL Representative will go to your facilities and provide you with training on how to apply the UL 48 requirements.
