New Product CategoriesThe following is a list of newly developed UL product categories. They are broken down into separate groups by the type of equipment, e.g. Electrical, Fire Protection, Hazardous Locations, Mechanical, Roofing, Fire Resistance, etc. Each product category is tabulated by CCN (Category Control Number), product category name and date that the category was created. By clicking on the CCN, you will be linked to the UL Guide Information for the category and any Listings or Classifications under that Product Category in the UL Online Certifications Directory database. This information is to provide you, the Authority Having Jurisdiction, the notification that a product category and requirements exist for these products. UL can provide a service, whether or not there are currently Listed or Classified products under the respective category, Provided there is a need, regardless of whether a product category or UL standard exist for a type of product, UL can develop requirements to List or Classify almost any product. If there is a product in the field that does not bear a certification mark and it is required to have one, perhaps a UL Field Evaluation may be appropriate. These categories will be updated monthly, so check back often. Each new category will appear on this page for two years.
