Public Educators and Teachers

Welcome teachers and other educators!

Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) takes its safety mission seriously. Helping consumers, especially young ones, understand how to use products safely is an important part of UL's contribution to the public.

Dedicated to supporting public education, we believe that as public servants we are all working for a safer world; each with an obligation to promote safety education and awareness for the prevention of accident in this world of chance.

We developed various educational materials relevant to home safety that you can take in to classrooms. Hand out at your local county fair; distribute to local merchants. Anywhere or any place UL can assist you to increase safety awareness.

Product Safety Tips:

The familiar UL Mark on the products you buy and use means that representative samples of those items have been tested and evaluated to nationally recognized safety standards with regard to fire, electric shock or related safety hazards.

But no matter how well UL evaluates a product, or how carefully the product has been designed and manufactured, it could present a safety risk if it is used improperly.

By following the safety tips contained in this brochure, you can help protect your family from the risk of fire, electric shock and casualty hazards.
